Meet Captain Chris O'Bryan

Captain Chris O’Bryan is a seasoned Army Combat veteran who has served in Korea, Afghanistan, and Iraq. When off duty, he has spent much of his life on Rough River Lake with his family. After o-FISH-ally retiring, Capt. Chris has devoted his time to pursuing his lifelong dream of taking new friends on fishing tours, families out on the lake, and being able to provide clients with a day that will create enough memories to last a lifetime! He has been heavily involved in tournament fishing participating in Bass Master, USA Bassin, MLF & Renegade Divisions since 2016 as a Co-angler and a Boater.

If you’re a seasoned bass fisherman, Capt. Chris welcomes you aboard and looks forward to hearing about your experiences and enjoys sharing relevant stories to make the experience more memorable! He strives to build relationships with his clients that will last a lifetime. Boating Adventures with Captain Chris has been a great way for him to witness and share the love of Jesus and fellowship with others. Before each trip, he leads with a prayer for safety and of thanksgiving! In the military, he was a Master Resilience Coordinator, where he learned coping skills to help with difficult situations in all walks of life. Although Capt. Chris is not a licensed counselor, he will listen to you, pray with you, and provide you with time to recharge and relax - ease the mind, body, and spirit on Rough River Lake!

He is a qualified U.S. coast guard approved CPT, with a 6-pack endorsement, and a KY certified guide license. In accordance with these certifications and licenses, he passes annual drug testing and physicals, as well as KY state background checks. Rest assured, Capt. He is also has a Class A CDL with a passenger endorsement, and on days when he’s not on the lake, he’s available to drive buses for Breckenridge County School System.

In order to provide clients with the maximum amount of safety and security, Capt. Chris does contact local EMS to ensure they are aware of which boat ramp at Rough River he will be accessing during your session, should an emergency situation arise.

Capt. Chris takes his Watersports & Activities guests out with his beloved “Halos” which is a 20’ StarCraft limited OB. “Halos” comes equipped with a wakeboard tower, tube pulling ring, Bluetooth stereo (allowing you to play your own playlist or select from several options from Capt. Chris.) Waters and Gatorades are included in your cost with a large cooler stocked with ice. “Halos” allows for plenty of room for storage of personal interns and accommodates 6 guests. Life jackets with varying sizes and water sport equipment are included and are sanitized thoroughly after each use. However, you are allowed to bring your own equipment if you prefer. From wakeboarding, slalom (single) or double water skis, children's training skis, as well as 2 different styles of tubes are available (accommodates 2 or 3 riders depending on your tube selection.) This package also includes swimming, relaxing, floating on large swim mat.
